September 16-20

  • This week is review week. No reading story. No vocabulary words. We will be doing activities to reinforce the reading standard.
  • This week's reading standard to review is Text Structure: Sequence.
  • This week's grammar skill to review is Context Clues.
  •  Reading homework goes home on Monday. It is not due until Thursday. There is an explanation slip attached to the homework. Your child CAN write on the sequencing timeline chart. Homework is not required, (only bonus points rewarded) but it would be nice to have as many timelines completed to display.
  • There will be a reading test on Thursday. It will consist of cold read passages that include sequencing and context clues questions.
  • Last week's tests will go home on Tuesday.
  • If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 and below), please sign the test and return it by Thursday.
  • Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc.
  • Let me know if you need me in any way!

  • Coming Up Soon:
    • INow passwords went home last week.
    • Kona Ice: Thursday, September 19th
    • Homecoming Dress Up week note went home last week also.
    • Monday: Favorite College team tshirt
    • Tuesday: 80s attire
    • Wednesday: Dress up as Twins.
    • Thursday: Color War. 5th Grade wears BLACK.
    • Friday: Saints attire. School dismisses at 11:30. Progress Reports go home.
Please send to school with your child an inexpensive pair of head phones or ear buds for computer lab. Thanks to everyone who has already sent them in. The supply kits came with headphones.

Remember if your child is absent, I need a parent's or doctor's excuse within 3 days when they return.
