February 25-March1

We will be beginning our chapter book, Bridge to Terabithia, study this week.
  • Monday, February 25th, read and discuss chapter 1
  • Tuesday, February 26th, listen to chapter 1 on audio and quiz on chapter 1
  • Wednesday, February 27th, read and discuss chapter 2
  • Thursday, February 28th, listen to chapter 2 on audio and quiz on chapter 2
  • Friday, March 1st, P.E. bowling field trip
There is no homework for bonus points during the book study. Your child will have a study guide filled out for every chapter. Please try to have your child at school as much as possible.

Reading test will go home on Wednesday on this week. If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 or below) I have stamped the test sign and return. Please do so by Friday, March 1st.
  • Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, homework, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc.

Read Across America Week is this week. Dress up days are Tuesday: Hat Day; Wednesday: Wacky Tacky Day; Thursday: Silly Sock Day

P.E. Bowling Field Trip is this Friday, March 1st.

Remember students are only allowed 10 parent excuses for the WHOLE year. After 10 parent excuses, students will not be allowed to make up ANY missed work or tests.

February 18-22

  • This week's focus skill is the reviewing of theme.
  • This week's grammar skill is proverbs and adages.

  • Homework goes home on Tuesday, February 19th and is due on Friday, February 22nd. Remember homework is optional, but if correct, bonus points will be rewarded.

    Reading, grammar, and spelling tests from last Friday will go home on Wednesday, February 20th. If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 or below) I have stamped the test sign and return. Please do so by Friday, February 22nd.
    • There will be a reading test on Friday, February 22nd. It will consist of a cold read passage with questions involving theme.
    • Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, homework, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc.
    • Let me know if you need me in any way!

    Coming Up Soon:

    February 11-15

     Congrats to all the D.A.R.E. essays winners and all of the students for graduating last Thursday.
  • This week's focus skill is the reviewing of theme.
  • This week's grammar skill is the reviewing of homophones.
  •  This 9 weeks spelling words are homophones. The test is this Friday, February 15th. The words are bored, board, principle, principal, stationary, stationery, crews, cruise, presence, presents, flower, flour, allowed, aloud, peace, piece, dual, duel, flare, and flair. The students will not only have to spell the words correctly, but know the definitions of each homophone.

  • Homework goes home on Monday, February 11th and is due on Friday, February 15th. Remember homework is optional, but if correct, bonus points will be rewarded. For the rest of the year, I will only be sending home the homework with the students who tell me they plan on doing it. I am losing dozens of copies of homework that these students are taking, not completing, and not returning my copy.
