  • D.A.R.E. graduation is this Thursday, December 11th at 9:00. ALL parents are invited to attend.

  • We will be completing week 5 in social studies. I gave credit on last week's social studies test for 2 of the questions that the majority of the class missed. That is why there are 2 different grades on the test.
  • Your child has homework on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. PLEASE check agenda books and make sure that their homework is complete and back in their binders.
  • Graded test papers will go home on Tuesday.
  •  School dismisses at 1:00 this Thursday, September 11th.

Harder words! Please make sure your child is studying and completing homework. They have spelling homework on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.

  • There will be a reading, grammar, and spelling test on Friday.
  • We are working on week 3 of USA Studies Weekly. Test scores were much better for week 2.
  • Test papers go home on Tuesday. If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 and below), you must sign and return the test paper by Friday of that same week.

    • This week's grammar skill is exclamatory and imperative sentences.
    • Check agenda books nightly! There is homework! Failure to turn in homework results in a conduct mark.
    • There will be a reading, spelling, and grammar test on Friday.
    • Don't forget to help your child study!
    • We are working on Week 2 of USA Studies Weekly. We have daily activities with the newspaper Monday-Wednesday. We highlight what to study on Wednesday and it comes home on Wednesday to look over. They get to use the newspaper on the test on Thursday. This is exactly what we did last week and some of the students took the test and NEVER opened the newspaper that was on their desks. I walked around during the tests and strongly encouraged the students to use the resource, but some still chose to not use it. PLEASE encourage your child to use the resource given to them if their grade is not a 100!
    • Graded papers will be returned on Tuesday. If your child made a D (60-69) or an F (59 and below), sign the test and return by Friday the 22nd.
    • Make sure your child comes to school if at all possible. They miss so much having 2 different teachers....especially in math. One can get quickly behind when they miss instructional time.
    • If your child is absent, I must have a written parent excuse or doctor's excuse.
    • If your child is going home a different way than normal, I MUST have it in writing. Do not tell your 5th grader to just tell me!
