January 14-18

This is review week. We will be reviewing the reading standard of imagery and the grammar standard of subject/verb agreement.

Homework goes home on Monday, January 14th and is due on Friday, January 18th. Remember homework is optional, but if correct, bonus points will be rewarded. For the rest of the year, I will only be sending home the homework with the students who tell me they plan on doing it. I am losing dozens of copies of homework that these students are taking, not completing, and not returning my copy.
  • Reading tests from last Friday will go home on Tuesday, January 15th. If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 or below) I have stamped the test sign and return. Please do so by Friday, January 18th.
  • There will be a reading test on Friday, January 18th. It will consist of a cold read passage where the student must match the imagery example correctly with one of the five senses.
  • There will be a grammar test also on Friday, January 18th on subject verb agreement.
  • Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, homework, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc.
  • Let me know if you need me in any way!

Coming Up Soon:
Special Snack on Wednesday, January 16th. Everything is $1.00.
No School on Monday, January 21st in observance of MLK, Jr. Day.
DARE graduation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 29th at 6:00.

***Remember if your child is absent, I need a parent's or doctor's excuse when they return. Remember students are only allowed 10 parent excuses for the WHOLE year. After 10 parent excuses, students will not be allowed to make up ANY missed work or tests.***

Any questions, please ask. Looking forward to another GREAT week of learning.
