This week's story is When Washington Crossed the Delaware.

This week's focus skill is Text Structure: Sequence.

This week's vocabulary words are persuading, crucial, maneuvered, encountered, crisis, appealed, perseverance, and destiny.

This week's grammar skill is context clues.

 Reading homework went home on Monday, but is not due until Friday. I grade some of the homework responses, so please make sure your child returns it correctly by Friday.

There will be a reading test on Friday. It will consist of a cold read passage, comprehension questions about this week's story, and vocabulary sentences.

Last week's tests will go home on Tuesday.

If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 and below), please sign the test and return it by Friday.  

Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, homework, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc. I will be continue to sign conduct folders for failure to bring materials to class, failure to return signed papers, behavior, etc!
