November 12-16

This week is review week. We will be reviewing the reading standard of Cause and Effect. It was continuously missed while we were working on text structure. There will be no grammar standard this week because of the short week.
  • Homework will go home on Tuesday the 13th and is not due until Friday the 16th. Remember homework is optional, but is bonus points if completed correctly.
  • This week's story is A Drop of Water to help review cause and effect. A study guide will go home on Tuesday, the 13th.
  • This week's vocabulary words are:
elongates: stretches to a longer length
elastic: stretches easily
rigid: stiff and does not change shape easily
accumulate: collect over time
underlying: located below or beneath something
intricate: complicated or involved and has many small parts or details
vanish: to disappear suddenly
replenishing: refilling it or making it complete again

  • There will be a reading test on cause and effect on Friday the 16th.
  • Last week's tests will go home on Wednesday, November 14th. If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 and below), please sign the test and return it by Friday the 16th.
  • Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, homework, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc.
  • Let me know if you need me in any way!
Coming Soon:
  • Progress Reports go over Wednesday, November 14th. Please review, sign, and return by Friday, the 16th.
  • Wear BLUE on Wednesday the 14th for Diabetes Awareness Day.
  • Special Snack is Wednesday the 14th.

  • Thanksgiving Feast is Thursday, November 15th. 5th grade lunch time is 11:40.

  • No School, November 19-23. Happy Thanksgiving!
Remember if your child is absent, I need a parent's or doctor's excuse when they return.
