Please sign and return report cards if you haven't already done so.

The NED show is Thursday, January 23rd. It is FREE for students, but a brochure will be sent home about buying a yo-yo if you would like one.

This week's story is Lesson 17: Nothing Ever Happens on 90th Street.

This week's genre is realistic fiction.

This week's focus skill is making inferences.

This week's grammar skill is possessive and reflexive case pronouns.

This week's spelling words are animal, collectible, happening, equipment, coming, embarrass, experience, neighbor, schedule, and wanted.

Watch agenda books for homework assignments.

Last week's tests are scheduled for Tuesday, January 21st and this week's tests are scheduled for Monday, 27th. Then we will get back on schedule.

We will be taking Chapter 6 social studies test this week and beginning chapter 7.

I will get the tests back to you as soon as possible. Please sign and return if your child made a D or an F.

January 13-17

Don't forget our PTO program is Tuesday, January 14th at 6:00. I need all students to be in the classroom by 5:45 at the latest!! Remember come dressed as the 50s!!!

Hat day is Wednesday, January 15th. It costs $1.00 to participate!!

Report cards go home on Thursday, January 16th. Please sign and return as soon as possible.

Awards Day has been scheduled for this Friday, January 17th at 10:15.

Hope your holiday season was wonderful!

We will taking a mid year assessment in reading this week!

We will be taking a review spelling test on Friday. The spelling words are learned, caught, every, friend, interesting, together, stopped, received, once, started, believe, president, continue, education, smiled, evidence, beyond, question, although, and environment.

There will be spelling homework on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.

We will be working on chapter 6 in social studies.

I will be sending a note and email this week concerning changes in contact information. Please let me know changes. If there are no changes, let me know that also.

Make sure your child has PENCILS!!!! We are out AGAIN! Thanks to all of you who sent in extras the last time! They also need loose leaf paper!

Report Cards go home next Thursday, January 16th! Please review your child's grades, sign, and return as soon as possible.

DARE graduation is Thursday, December 12th at 8:30 in the OIS lobby. All parents are invited to attend.

OIS choir performance is Thursday, December 16th at 7:00 at Calvary Baptist Church.

Christmas parties will be Thursday, December 19th! More information to come!

School will dismiss at 11:30 on Friday, December 20th. If your child will be going home a different way than usual, I will need it in writing in a note from you.

This week's spelling words are believe, president, continue, education, smiled, evidence, beyond, question, although, and environment.

This week's grammar skill is pronouns and antecedents.

We will be taking the Chapter 5 social studies test this week. Remember it is OPEN book and page numbers given! Everyone should make a GREAT grade!

Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, homework, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc. I will continue to sign conduct folders for NO homework, failure to return signed papers, etc!
