This week's reading standard is Cause and Effect.

betrayed: to let someone down that trusted you
outcast: rejected by others
withered: dried up
unfathomable: unable to understand

This week's grammar skill is homographs.

Reading homework goes home on Monday. It is not due until Friday. Homework is not required, but students receive bonus points to the weekly test grade if answers are correct.

There will be a reading test on Friday. It will consist of a cold read passage and question set including cause and effect questions and homograph questions, comprehension questions about this week's story, and vocabulary sentences.

Last week's tests will go home on Tuesday.

If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 and below), please sign the test and return it by Friday.  

Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, homework, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc.

Also talk with your child about filling in their agenda books in all 4 classes. It is the student's responsibility to fill in their own agenda book. My assignments and school information is posted in the front of the room by the classroom door.

• Progress Reports go home Monday, September 10. Please review, sign, and return by Friday the 14th.
• Saints tshirt orders and money is due Wednesday, September 12th.

Please send to school with your child an inexpensive pair of head phones or ear buds for computer lab. Thanks to everyone who has already sent them in.

Remember if your child is absent, I need a parent's or doctor's excuse when they return.
