September 3-7

Hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day weekend.

This week is review week. No reading story. No vocabulary words. We will be doing activities to reinforce the reading standard.

This week's reading standard to review is Text Structure: Sequence.

This week's grammar skill to review is Context Clues.

 Reading homework goes home on Tuesday. It is not due until Friday. There is an explanation slip attached to the homework. Your child CAN write on the sequencing chart. Homework is not required, (only bonus points rewarded) but it would be nice to have as many timelines completed to display at open house.

There will be a reading test on Friday. It will consist of 2 cold read passages that include sequencing and context clues questions.

Last week's tests will go home on Wednesday.

If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 and below), please sign the test and return it by Friday.  

Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc.

Please send to school with your child an inexpensive pair of head phones or ear buds for computer lab. Thanks to everyone who has already sent them in.

Remember if your child is absent, I need a parent's or doctor's excuse when they return.
