November 13-17

  • This week's story is Project Mulberry.
  • This week's genre is realistic fiction.
  • This week's focus skill is main idea and details.
  • This week's vocabulary words are compartments, swayed, phobia, invasion, vetoed, and wispy.
  • This week's grammar skill is titles of works.

  • Homework goes home on Monday, November 13th and is due on Friday, November 17th. I will be grading some of the homework this week, so please make sure it is correct.
  • There will be a reading test on Friday, November 17th. It will consist of a cold read passage and question set, comprehension questions about this week's reading story, and vocabulary sentences.
  • Last week's tests go home on Tuesday, November 14th.
  • If your child makes a D (60-69) or an F (59 and below), please sign the test and return it by Friday the 17th.
  • Please continue to talk with your child about their school work, homework, conduct, notes from the school/teachers, etc. I will continue to sign conduct folders for failure to bring materials to class, failure to return signed papers, leaving belongings in my class, behavior, etc!
  • Not signing D/F test papers (violation 1.13) is getting the students in the most trouble. Please ask your student daily if they need anything signed.
  • Let me know if you need me in any way!

  • Coming Up Soon:
    • Progress reports go home on Monday, November 13th. Please review, sign, and return those progress reports by Wednesday, November 15th. Let me know which teacher, if any, you would like to conference with.

    • Thanksgiving Break is November 20-24.
    • Our field trip to American Village is Wednesday, November 29th.

Please send to school with your child an inexpensive pair of head phones or ear buds for computer lab. Thanks to everyone who has already sent them in.
